I finished it. The animation itself is complete, but I face 2 main problems. The first is that I want to put music in the animation, and I'm not completely sure how to do that. And the second is that I need to upload it to YouTube. I'm hoping that neither of these things will be difficult and that I can have my entire project done by Friday or Saturday. I enjoyed doing this project, but it definitely took a lot of effort, and I am so tired of stressing about it. I don't want to go too into detail because I still need to make a power point presentation. So this past week I finished drawing all of the scenes and I colored and edited them. Me and my friend did some voice recording but it never really sounded as good as I wanted it too. We used a gaming headset with a good voice recorder, then we went into a closet and even put a blanket on top of him, but for some reason there was always this static sound in the background. I have changed my mind so many times during this project, whether it was over sound, or color, or even which scenes I want to do. I never really had a teacher to help me with animate, and YouTube videos only help to a certain extent because its hard to learn a specific thing that you want to know. But I had fun, and I'm glad its over, but I will still continue to work in animate and get better.

I'm halfway done So over Thanksgiving break I was able to have the time I needed to sit down and start animating. I decided to do an Among Us animation because the characters are super easy to draw because they are basically just circles. I started out just drawing some letters and making it look like the sentence was being typed. I did not really want to start working on character movement just yet. After I finished that I made different characters and created the illusion of them running away to do their tasks. I'm still not 100% certain on the plot, but I am seeing what is the easiest but still looks nice. After I finish typing this I am going to go and work on it because I am honestly so stressed over this thing. By the time I figured out what I wanted to do and how to do it I realized that I have a deadline. But its so much harder than just drawing frames. I will have to speed parts up and slow parts down so they look more natural and less stiff. Also I want to add music because it would be awkward if it was just dead silent while I presented it. Another problem would be figuring out how to upload it onto YouTube. But I will also have to think about my presentation and how I want to present the video. It is going to be a very stressful 2 weeks, but I think I can get it done.
I am ready. It has been about 9 to 10 weeks since I first started using Adobe animate. One of the big things that I have learned was just how hard animating is. After learning how time consuming it is, I am blown away and any animation, whether it is something on Cartoon Network, or Anime, ESPECIALLY Anime. The detail and cleanness of it makes me wonder how many hours they put into those shows. But anyway, I have put of working on the main video and instead worked on shorter animations. But this weekend, I am hoping to put at least 3 to 4 hours into making this animation, another thing I have decided is that my animation is only going to be about 30 seconds long. Also I do not think I will use voices or sound effects, just because that might take longer than I have. This animation has really stressed me out. I think animating is fun, but it is hard to force myself to do it sometimes. It is very time consuming, but I definitely will consider it for a career in the future if I can get paid enough for it. But once this animation is over, I will take a long break from animating.
Last week I wanted to add sound to my animations. After watching some tutorials I learned that in order to import sound you need to have the correct file type for sound otherwise it will not sound good, or it won't even go into your sound libraries. It took me a lot longer to figure out than I expected. Also another problem I found was that it is really hard to find good quality sound effects, and the ones that I wanted. I usually download sound effects off of random websites and they usually sound pretty good, but they just don't have the sound effects I wanted. So this week I started to animate some of my characters. I also changed the plot of what I wanted to do just because the last one felt too fast, so I chose to make the story a little more believable and I also chose different characters. I changed them to easier designs so that way animating them would be easier and I might be able to use color. But I chose to make the animation more funny rather than serious. So over the past few days I tried to start animating every day, but it is really hard since I have to do homework and school. And also just because it is a lot of work. I have decided to hand draw everything, so each time I want to make something move, I have to erase the thing I want to move, and redraw it to give it the illusion of movement, and then make a new frame and do the same thing all over again. So it takes me like 30 minutes to create a few seconds of animation.
So the last thing I need to do is learn how to add sound. Because my characters wont have mouths, I will be able to add voices and not have to lip sync. The only problem I have found is that it is really hard to find high quality sounds or sound effects. So I will probably have to make the sounds myself and then edit them. Ok so over the past few days I have not really done as much as I wanted to, but I honestly just needed a break because I am kind of getting really stressed trying to figure out how to do things and learn how to make them look clean and nice. So I have started to use the bone tool, but it has not drastically helped. I think I will just have to hand draw everything, which will take an enormous amount of time. I just hope I can finish before I run out of time. I am going to be honest, there is a hurricane happening right now, and I have an essay thing I have to do for my English class tomorrow so I am kind of rushing this post, but I will say that I have learned to put different parts of characters onto different layers, that way when I move their body parts it does not mess up the entire thing, and it stays organized. Ok so my Wi-Fi just cut out and the power was gone for a little bit so I really need to finish this before it happens again. Overall the entire time I have used Adobe animate it has been fun, but also very stressful and aggravating. So I think it is time for me to actually start on the real animation. it will be hard, I just do not want to give up.
So over the past few days I was not really able to work on my project as much as I wanted to because my family wanted to go on vacation. I am still sort of behind on my project. Animating is really hard and time consuming and my teacher said it is a very steep learning curve, but once I figure it all out it will be really easy to use. Even though I did not have as much time, I still was able to learn how to use the bone tool. Which is another extremely difficult tool to use properly. Basically if you wanted to use the bone tool to animate a person then you need to make each little part of their body on a different layer. So the Head, hands, arms, legs, and body all need to be in their own timelines. Then you have to connect them together. and once you do this you can drag the parts across the screen and they will not detach from the body. I will still continue to work in the software and watch more tutorials. I have also continued to do more drawings in Adobe illustrator. but yeah other that figuring out what the bone tool did I have not done anything super important. I am afraid of starting because I want the animation to look good, but I am just worried it will take more time that I originally thought.
So this week I was working on tweening. tweening is a key process in all types of animation, including computer animation. It is the process of generating intermediate frames between two images, called key frames, to give the appearance that the first image evolves smoothly into the second image. Tweening is a very important step in animating because it basically makes your animations transition very smoothly and clean. That way they look like you put effort and time into your animation. It is hard to use though just because literally everything that has to do with animation is super complex. However I have been able to use it to make background move one way or the other.
For the future I want to learn how to use the bone structure tool in animate. It will also help making animation easier. It would be so much easier than trying to animate things by hand by erasing them every time. Ok so this we I did not do quite as much, simply because I was really tired from doing something over the weekend and I just had so much work this week, so overall I just tried to take it easy this week with the genius hour. I still love to draw and animate for this project, but it just takes so much time and effort. Also my hand cramps up very easily after I draw for a while. But I have done a few drawings this week. I have done some other drawings, but they were very simple and I did not feel like posting them. So I decided that they were not worthy to be shown on my blog. I think that every week I will just post a picture of a really good drawing that I did over the week. Because I love to draw on this laptop. Also I have started to work with a friend in trying to animate, because it might be easier if I have someone who helps me with this project. I will still do the work on my own. But this week I have mainly just used adobe illustrator. So for the future I will just continue to draw and get used to drawing on a screen. Drawing on paper is easier, because your pencil does not slide around on the surface, but drawing on a computer looks very professional and clean. So yeah I just need to continue watching tutorials, and hopefully me and my friend can figure out how to make a really good animation.
Getting better. These past few days I have continued to advance my skills in the software by creating more complex animations. However I can not show them because you have to pay for videos in Weebly so the best thing I can do is just to upload pictures of what my animations look like. I can also show what the software looks like. So I have continued to watch videos on how to use Adobe animate. I am still new, but I have definitely improved. However it is harder to learn because most of the tutorials that I watch use pictures of characters rather than hand drawing their objects. But I think that it might be a good option to use pre-made characters because they would be cleaner and possibly easier to use. I am really excited to continue to work in animation because it has always been something that I have loved. I would watch a TON of cartoons when I was younger, also I have always loved to draw and doodle on literally everything. So it would be super cool if I could bring them to life. For the next week I am going to have to learn how to use pre-made characters to animate, because that might help me understand hand drawn animation better. I still do not want to work with sound quite yet because I think that will be the most fun and I might try to get other people to voice some of the characters. Another thing I will need to learn is how to lip-sync the characters mouths.
